ANU Student Sustainability Initiatives

 

ANU Sustainability Learning Community

The SLC is a network of staff and students from across the university who are tackling day-to-day environment and sustainability-related issues in the campus community.  Major projects include a campus organic garden and the World Environment Day Great Green Debate. 

Fenner School Students Society

The student's society is the social side of the Fenner School of Environment and Society promoting interaction of students and staff studying and working in environmental management.    

Environment Collective

Part of the ANU Student’s Association, the Environment Collective aims to make ANU a progressive and sustainable community by engaging in activism and awareness raising on a local and national scale.

Green Halls and Colleges

Campus residences each have a green team that works to improve environmental performance of the hall or college and to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Australian Youth Climate Coalition

A non-partisan coalition determined to mobilise our generation in the struggle for climate justice and a clean energy future.

Law Students for Social Justice

LSSJ's aim is the cultivation of social-justice awareness and activism at the ANU law school and beyond.  To this end, it initiates or cooperates in a range of interesting projects.

The Australia & New Zealand Solar Energy Society

Joing ANZSES is a great way to keep up to date with advances in renewable energy both in Australia and around the world, not to mention a good way to make contacts in the industry.  The ANZSES Canberra branch meets on the the last Wednesday of each month in the Ian Ross building at ANU, to hear an industry speaker.
